So-Hum Smiles is a learning and therapy center for special needs individuals near Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon. It’s a project of So-hum Parivar Foundation, a registered charitable trust working in the field of education and awareness for special needs individuals. The trustees of the trust are parents of a special need son. Having seen the challenges firsthand and with a zeal to help as many special needs families as possible, the trust was formed with the intention of providing quality programs and support to neurodivergent individuals with special needs, development delays and disabilities.
The goal of So-Hum Smiles is to build the skills and abilities of children and adults with special needs(CWSN) through functional academics, occupational therapies, speech therapies, independent life skills and integration. The vision is for them to lead meaningful and productive lives, explore their potential, develop a sense of community, and pursue independence and jobs if able.
We provide trained shadow teachers assisting students with special needs during their school day. Remedial support post school is also possible. We also provide online therapy sessions for OT, speech, ABA and special education at attractive packages.
Our School Shadowing program offers personalized assistance by having skilled professionals work closely with students in their classroom environment.
Our Online Sessions provide flexible, accessible support through virtual meetings. These sessions can include one-on-one tutoring, specialized therapy, and interactive group activities, all designed to address specific learning goals and needs.
Speech and Language Therapy offers assistance, support, and care to individuals, both children and adults, experiencing challenges in the development or utilization of communication skills. This includes delays in development, non-fluency, misarticulation, voice or intonation issues, as well as difficulties related to swallowing, eating, drinking, or sucking. A speech and language pathologist helps address concerns with oral-musculature functioning and facilitates the development and use of vocabulary.
Occupational therapy tailored for children with autism centers around nurturing crucial life skills, with a particular emphasis on enhancing sensory integration, motor skills, self-care routines, social interactions, and adaptive behaviors. This comprehensive approach empowers them to navigate daily life with increased independence and fulfillment. All the while, fostering a supportive environment that encourages the development of these skills, resulting in smiles of accomplishment and progress.
Community plays a vital role in all ways of life. By fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity, So-Hum smiles creates an environment where students feel accepted, valued, and empowered.
The So-Hum community consists of students, parents, teachers, staff, and various stakeholders working together to create a comprehensive educational experience. They engage in open communication channels and actively participate in collaborative efforts.
